Interview with Mallory, a Nohô host with a passion for photography!
Today, Team Nohô had the pleasure of talking to one of our hosts (a Nohô host is someone who wants others to discover their world) who recently registered on the app to showcase her passion: photography. We asked her the following questions.
Can you introduce yourself?
My name is Mallory, I’m 26 years old, I live in Savoie and since I was a little girl I’ve been passionate about photography!
How did you get into photography?
I’ve always been interested in photography, and started taking pictures at a very early age.
I have this memory from first grade, I think, when I was about 6, when my parents bought me a disposable camera for school outings. I have to admit that the photos aren’t great (laughs), but the album is still at home. It’s one of my earliest memories of photography.
After that, I’ve always known my father and uncle taking photos, and that’s something that’s stayed with me.
For my camera, I use a digital SLR. I also shoot a bit of film, but more for myself, to try things out and practice.
As for the type of photos I take, I do a lot of landscapes because I love them. I’ve also started doing weddings, portraits, family celebrations and corporate photography. I’m not closed to any particular universe, I’m a bit of a jack of all trades.
What is your career path?
At the very beginning of my studies, I wasn’t at all oriented towards photography. First I did a degree in languages, so it was nothing like that. During that period, I went into confinement, and there wasn’t much to do, but I was lucky enough to spend it with my parents, who have a garden. So I started doing a lot of photography in the garden, and that’s when I thought: “Why don’t you try setting up your own business and make a living from your passion?”. The idea just came to me and I found a distance learning course. The photographer who runs the course continues to add content, so I’m training myself on all the subjects. So I gave up my language degree and I don’t regret it, because I’ve been self-employed since the beginning of 2024.
Can you tell us more about the Nohô app?
I created a share on Nohô to show the photographer’s job. To enable people to learn the basics of photography and why not take a few photos with them to apply what we’ve seen beforehand.
I might add a second share later, for example, offering to follow me for a day.
Do you have any other passions?
My number 1 passion is still photography, but I’m a multi-passionate person: I do video, painting, writing… Anything to do with the creative world: that’s my thing! (Laughs) I also go hiking to enjoy the Savoie countryside!
