Some athletes seek competition, while others seek something deeper. Nassim is one of the latter. A second-dan in kung fu and a multidisciplinary practitioner for over ten years, he has explored martial arts in every direction, from Krav Maga to grappling, from English boxing to Thai boxing. Today, based in Erstein, Alsace, he’s offering to share what he’s built through Nohô: an approach to combat that goes far beyond sport.
My name is Nassim Loukarif. I’ve been practicing martial arts for about ten years. I hold a second dan in kung fu and am currently preparing for my third dan. I’m also a multidisciplinary practitioner: I’ve always wanted to understand different approaches to combat rather than limit myself to a single discipline.
I’ve practiced kung fu, French boxing, Krav Maga, Thai boxing, English boxing, MMA, and grappling. Each discipline has taught me something different—a way to understand distance, timing, and contact. I’ve explored all of these to discover different approaches to combat and gradually develop my own style, rather than sticking to a single method.
Kung fu remains the discipline closest to my heart, because it’s the one in which I’ve grown the most and invested the most time. It’s a practice that requires discipline, patience, and genuine long-term progress. But I deeply appreciate how the disciplines complement each other. For me, they aren’t opposed to one another—they feed off one another.
For me, boxing is a real tool for personal development. It lets me express myself, blow off steam, channel my energy, and get to know myself better. When you’re face-to-face with yourself during intense physical exertion, you learn a lot about how you react, how to handle pressure, and how to bounce back. It’s a school of life as much as it is a sport.
I offer physical conditioning sessions, boxing introductions, and technical training: cardio, mobility, and strength training. The idea is a full, results-oriented hour tailored to each person. My sessions are mainly for beginners and intermediate boxers who want to improve or just let off some steam. What matters to me is motivation. As long as I see enthusiasm, I say yes.
At Nohô, certain encounters push you to go beyond your limits. Nassim’s is one of them. You don’t need to have put on gloves before: he welcomes both the curious and those who truly want to improve. Spend an hour with him in Erstein, Alsace, and you’ll leave with more than just a technique—a new way of seeing yourself move.
