My name is Herlock, well… that’s my stage name. I’m 35 years old and I live near Toulon, in the Var region. I’m a magician.
Basically, my background has absolutely nothing to do with magic. I have a BTS (advanced vocational training certificate) in SME-SMI management assistance.
And yet, looking back, I realize that magic was never very far away.
When I was a child, I used to watch shows like Attention Magie with Gilles Arthur, or Bernard Bilis’ appearances on Patrick Sébastien’s show. It made an impression on me without me realizing it.
Then one day, at the end of December 2017, I found myself in a Zodio store in Plan de Campagne, in the south of France. I came across a little magic box for three euros… and that’s where it all started. I put my finger in it. Then my arm. Then my bank account. 😉
That’s really how the passion was born.
I’m trying to make it a full-time job. I tried working for someone else and realized it wasn’t for me. What I love about being an entrepreneur is that I’m only accountable to myself. And above all, magic is a world without limits. You can always create, invent, explore.
On stage, I want to create a world where anything is possible. I’m actually working on a show called Entre les mondes (Between Worlds), where magic and the paranormal coexist. In close-up, I work a lot with cards, but not exclusively. What I love is when the magic happens in the hands of the audience. At that moment, I’m no longer really the author of what’s happening: it’s them who are living the experience.
For example, I have someone sign a card representing a key. I place it in their hand, they concentrate… and when they open their hand, the key is bent.
These are simple tricks, but they have a strong impact. I place a lot of emphasis on interaction.I’m also quite attracted to the world of cheating, which is part of my aesthetic.
This ad, like the other one, has several objectives.
First, to raise awareness of my world. Second, to make myself known. My business is still new, so I’m coming up with lots of ideas to gain visibility.
For example, at Christmas, I made balloon snowmen and left them on the landing. Rather than taking them back, I put up a small ad in the elevator offering them up for adoption, with a QR code that linked to my profile.
These are the kinds of things that motivate me: creating connections, sparking curiosity, bringing a smile to people’s faces. And on Nohô, this ad about balloons is in line with that.
The idea behind this ad is simple: to offer workshops for those who want to discover magic, learn the basics, or get started.
Always in a good mood, without pressure, with a desire to teach and share.
Herlock embodies this living, accessible, and deeply human magic, far removed from rigid artifice. For him, illusion is not just a means of impressing, but of creating connections, provoking emotion, and placing the spectator at the heart of the experience.
Through his offerings on Nohô, whether magic workshops or balloon sculpting, he invites everyone to step into a world where curiosity, playfulness, and wonder take center stage. An encounter with Herlock is, above all, a timeless moment… between worlds.
